Sleep study - PSG

Your clinician might suggest you would benefit from a Sleep Study (Polysomnography assessment or PSG), maybe because they suspect you have:

  • Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA)
  • Narcolepsy
  • Unusual behaviour during sleep
  • Heavy breathing or snoring during sleep
  • Unexplained insomnia

This test monitors your sleep cycle and identify disruptions in your sleep patterns in order to confirm and diagnose sleep disorders.  Polysomnography records your brain waves, the oxygen level in your blood, heart rate and breathing and is a non-invasive test.
